Airport tightens security vs baggage thieves

THE MANILA International Airport Authority (MIAA) is beefing up security at the ramp areas of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals starting this week to avoid pilferage of passengers' baggage, MIAA General Manager Alfonso Cusi said in a statement.

"We want to prove to our valued travelers that their baggage remain safe with us here at the NAIA," Cusi said Tuesday.

I remember a news article years ago where japan bound girls would crawl to the airvents to avoid going to Immigration and go straight to the plane. I wonder how they got their boarding passes or even their passports stamped.

I had a friend who used to work there and everyday, EVERYDAY, he'd come home with a bag full of stuff.

Now. After decades, DECADES, of airport operation, The Philippine's main ummm... airport, NAIA, is going to beef up security!

Wow.
