Harold and Maude and Mary

I just saw the movie Harold and Maude.

The scene in the ambulance with Maude dying just gets me:

HAROLD: Never! Never! I'll never forget you. I wanted to marry you. Don't you understand! I love you. I love you!

MAUDE: Oh! That's wonderful, Harold. Go - and love some more.

Dang. That just takes the cake. Mary (Cameron Diaz, Something About Mary) was kind of right. Harold and Maude is the best love story of all time. Well, not really. But it's up there. Bud Cort reminds me of a cross between Matthew Broderick and Bright Eyes singer, Conor Oberst. Even the soundtrack has that Bright Eyes feel to it as laid out by Cat Stevens. Even his latest (Conor's) song First Day of My Life easily fits in to the overall theme of the story.

Ack! Don't tell me I'm becoming to sound like a movie reviewer. Bottom line is Harold and Maude is a must see for it's quirkiness, it's innocence, and for one of the best love tandems on film. Bar none.

Now if I could only have that Jaguar Hearst that Harold drives...
