What's the purpose of all these ups and downs that life throws at us?

Is there a grand scheme of things where when we die, we get it. We see the big picture?

A friend of mine brought up causality (In fairness she hasn't seen the Matrix sequels, I think...). But causality is too limited. Too quaint an explanation for this turbulence we go through.

I myself go for the Chaos Theory. Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg subscribed to it (well, except for the cherry in his throat). Even Dr. Ian Malcolm with his drop of water explanation to Dr. Sattler believed in it. Everything is chaos.

Life is chaos.

Death is peace.

Cause and effect. Or is that balance?
