STAR WARS

I was in the fourth grade when we saw Star Wars. It was in Harrison Plaza with my father and my brother. Afterwards, I remember playing the lightsabre scene with my brother. As I remember it, we both wanted to be Darth Vader.

That was the first time, my father ever brought us out to watch a movie.

I saw Star Wars in Cinema Joy, a movie theater in Pasay City that had wooden seats, double features, and kids hawking hopia, mani, and popcorn along the aisles. Needless to say, it was a life-altering experience:
"Hokey religions and (hopia, mani, popcornnn) ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid."

The first time I cut school was when I watched Return of the Jedi with my friends. It was an advanced preview in a theatre in Manila. (I forgot the name). It was in the morning. There was another advanced screening at night and it was in Makati Cinema Square, I think.
